If any of you have read my previous post you will know that I recently came across an Antiques Fair in the Italian city of Lucca . It was while wandering through this fair that this bright red vintage sign caught my eye.
It is an advert for Campari Soda. Campari is an infusion of bitter herbs, aromatic plants, fruit and alcohol in water. Campari soda is obtained by adding carbonated water to Campari. It has a distinctive red colour and is commonly used as an aperitif.
I know that the picture is somewhat off-centre but I just saw it from across the square and zoomed in. I thought it would make an interesting post for this week’s Ruby Tuesday and I know that a lot of you love all things vintage.
For more Ruby Tuesday’s hop on over to Mary at Work of the Poet.
My husband drinks Campari and grapefruit juice in the summer. Too bitter for me though, but it does make a cool sign.
ReplyDeleteGreat sign and a fine choice for this meme.
ReplyDeleteVintage is popular here. :-) Good choice!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved vintage and have quite a few reproduction vingtage signs I've collected over the years.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great ruby find!
Carletta’s Captures.
I have never had Campari. I did once have a supervisor who preferred a Campari and soda. Could that be bitter and the bubbled not sweetening the drink. I wonder if it is more bitter than Grappa...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the charming vintage sign from the antiques fair in Italy. I like the border which looks Greek to me, but it probably has a different meaning.
ReplyDeleteVintage is great to remind us the past. Happy Ruby Tuesday.
