A good thought to ponder on...I guess I'd say there have been roads I've gone through and there have been others, some quite less travelled by and yes more fulfilling!

Sometimes roads are highly travelled in the beginning, but as they become less pilgrim-friendly, the frequency of those who choose it drops off. I'd say the road I'm glad I continue to travel despite the heartache and frustration is the one toward publication.

ReplyDeleteGreat Frostian advice. I teach that poem. A road less traveled that I learned from my late mamaw is to not gossip, and it is a good road to be on. I've seen so many people get hurt, get caught up in such needless drama. Oh, sure. The gossips will always exist; after all, when someone feels crappy about themselves, how delicious is it to gossip about someone else's worse situation. Ugh. Sometimes you can spot them a mile away; sometimes you slowly learn. Then you know to disengage, quickly. Great words to ponder, dear one ~ xox Alexandra

ReplyDeletei love robert frost's poetry, and i think your question has engendered some interesting responses. i agree with kayni, that a rare or chronic illness is " a road less traveled," and often lonely. yet i also believe that we are guided as we travel through this world, and so we are never really alone, even though our roads may be very difficult, at times. i also got a chuckle of of suze's phrase, "less pilgrim-friendly!"
